SXSW has announced 327 sessions for its 2027 Conferences, with artificial intelligence, gaming, music, film and the creator economy among the key topics set to feature at the event from March 15–21.
Selected from more than 3,300 submissions through the community-driven PanelPicker process, the programme reflects growing interest in AI, human connection and the future of entertainment.
Technology and AI, workplace culture, brand and marketing, health, and the creator economy were the five most popular tracks. Trust featured in 19% of submissions, while community appeared in 17%, highlighting growing concerns around technology, wellbeing and meaningful human connections.
The Innovation Conference will explore topics including AI-powered infrastructure, gaming platforms, startup trends and the changing role of creativity in an AI-driven world. Sessions will also examine the future of Grand Theft Auto 6, cancer research and how brands can stand out in an increasingly crowded market.
The Music Conference will focus on artist rights, AI-generated music and the evolving creator economy, with industry leaders discussing how artists can protect their work and build sustainable careers.
Meanwhile, the Film & TV Conference will explore filmmaking trends, horror adaptations and the behind-the-scenes talent shaping the screen industries. One session will examine the challenges of adapting the internet-born horror phenomenon Backrooms into a feature film, while another will spotlight women working behind the camera.
SXSW programming chief Greg Rosenbaum said the submissions reflect a shift towards practical applications of AI, alongside a growing demand for authentic human connection, wellbeing and trust.
The 2027 Conferences will bring together voices from across technology, music, film, television and culture to explore how innovation is reshaping the creative industries.
