Laser Kiwi presents a comedy/circus sketch show that is filled with the most random segments possible! So much so that each audience member is handed a running order as they walk into the venue, just so we can keep up with the insanity that is happening on stage.
Of course this sketch show is loosely based around olives, with recurring olive motifs and jokes throughout. There was also plenty more sketches to keep the audience entertained from 3D in real life, complete with old school 3D glasses to a unnerving Jenga section, that has the whole audience on the edge of their seat.
Laser Kiwi have great audience participation and they get really involved with the audience, their crowd work is so silly and fun and some individual audience participation is coordinated wonderfully and has the audience giggling away. Some of the sketches however were a bit long or just sort of sigh worthy jokes that in some ways took away from the more funny and enjoyable pieces of the show.
Although billed as circus there are only a few elements of circus throughout. Imogen Stone is incredible in her acrobatic rope routine and her strength and fluidity through movement was absolutely beautiful to watch, this combined with a funny comedic sketch was a fabulous way to combine both comedy and circus. It is just a shame there wasn’t more where this came from.
A random and silly show that creates a good hour of laughs.
