Blending smooth R&B tones, flashes of funk, and polished pop production, “Stay (When The Light Goes Down)” is both a dancefloor anthem and an intimate reflection on perseverance.

Behind the upbeat groove lies an extraordinary journey of quiet courage and unwavering determination. He has faced immense health challenges, including leukaemia, brain surgery, and continues to manage low cortisol, hindered growth, chronic fatigue and scoliosis. These obstacles disrupted his education and continue to test his limits, yet behind his calm determination lies a constant fear that the dream leading him toward independence could be held back by illness.

Though he often battles the weight of his on-going conditions, Sebastian continues to push through, knowing that to stop would mean giving up on the chance to live fully and claim the independence he’s striving for. Through disciplined focus on nutrition, exercise, and peptide therapy, he transforms adversity into strength. Through it all, music has been his sanctuary, where resilience reflects every rhythm and every beat tells his story of hope and perseverance.

Sebastian’s influences span across pop, R&B, dance, and beyond, from Chris Brown, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, and Clean Bandit to the high-energy productions of Tiësto and the timeless brilliance of Michael Jackson. He also finds inspiration in Central Cee’s lyricism, Wuja Wang’s classical precision, and new-gen creators on TikTok like WizTheMC and Jeleel.

“Even when I couldn’t walk properly or stay awake for long, I’d have melodies in my head,” says Sebastian. “Music helped me feel alive, even when life was hard. This first track is a celebration of that, of surviving, and of dancing anyway.”

“Stay (When The Light Goes Down)” captures that spirit: a feel-good, body-moving anthem with emotional depth. It’s the kind of track that lifts you on the dancefloor yet stays with you on the quiet walk home, a balance of joy and reflection that defines Sebastian’s sound. His vocal tonality, reminiscent of Drake’s smooth confidence, carries a maturity far beyond his years, while the song’s production nods to the R&B-pop classics of the 2010s.

Already generating early buzz for both his sound and his story, Sebastian is positioning himself as one of the UK’s most promising young pop voices, crafting music that connects through authenticity, energy, and emotion.

A self-taught producer and pianist, Sebastian composes every track from the ground up in Logic Pro X, crafting original melodies and beats without relying on loops or samples. Having only touched on formal piano lessons in his early years, he’s since taught himself both classical and jazz styles, developing a sound that’s entirely his own. His dedication to creating everything by hand gives his music a rare authenticity – a genuine reflection of his creative spirit and drive.

With “Stay (When The Light Goes Down)”, Sebastian Horton steps boldly into the spotlight, not just as a survivor, but as an artist with something to say, and a sound built to uplift.
