Hailing from Denmark, the multi-talented creative boasts over ten years in the music industry. Following the recent release of her latest album ‘Hakky the System‘, which features singles including ‘To My Knees’ and ‘Making Moves’, we sat down with Sandra to discover more about her music and what’s next for the soulful diva.

Hey there Sandra, how are you?

Hey there Entertainment Now, I’m busy and I like it, planning my release concert, album cover shoot and working on the lyric video for To My Knees.

Happy New Year! After the weirdness of the last two years, what are you looking forward to in 2022?

The world will always be weird in my eyes, but I’m really looking forward to being able to play live again.

You wanted to be a singer at an early age, what prompted this decision? How did you get into songwriting?

I was born in Denmark and raised in Egypt. I was sort of prompted by the Egyptian culture entertaining my family at family gatherings, singing and belly-dancing.

I actually wrote my first song when I was 7, it was a country song ha ha. I just took a piece of paper and started writing “looking for love in the places, searching all over again”.

How would you describe your work?

It’s a broad spectrum of different tech and visual art, and of course music. All of this culminates and motivates me to keep on learning (self taught producer) and grow as an artist. I don’t really care about genre, and I never sit down and contemplate on writing a hit. I just go with the flow, and do whatever I want, and I’m lucky to be able to do so, because I’m an independent artist.

What do you want people to take away from it?

Whatever they want really, as long as they’re listening with an open mind. I can’t ask for more.

What inspires you and who are your influences?

Everything inspires me. From taking a walk to reading about philosophy and science. And of course listening to music of different genres: Prodigy, Madonna, James Blake, The Lost Boys, Portishead and a variation of classical music.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

Go ahead and do it anyways.

What are you listening to?

My album “Hakky the System”, ha ha.

What’s next for you? What are you most excited about?

I’m currently working on my second English album, because “Hakky the System” is done, can’t wait to see what manifests, and of course touring with my upcoming album.
