Her Skin releases new album ‘I Started A Garden’ today

Her Skin, 25-year-old singer-songwriter Sara Ammendolia, has released her debut UK album ‘I Started A Garden’ today. Released digitally today via WWNBB, the vinyl will follow in January 2023. The album contains three critically acclaimed singles ‘Suitable’, ‘Heavy-Heated’ and ‘Confident’ and the new single – the album’s title track ‘I Started A Garden’ to be released on October 7.

Sara is originally from Modena, Italy, and began writing songs when she was fifteen. Having a passion for music since as long as she can remember, the first song she ever liked was ‘Le Freak’ by Chic. She now takes her inspiration from artists such as Sibylle Baier, Vashti Bunyan, Mac DeMarco, Beirut, Joni Mitchell, Jay Malinowski, The Kinks, the Head and the Heart.

Irem Bekter Continues Her Global Musical Journey With New Single

“It took me three years to write and record these nine songs, and I am aware that I’m not the same person I was when I started working on this record, but that’s what makes it so special to me. It’s an album about the lessons I learned, the people I loved, the time it took me to heal.

“‘I Started a Garden’ is a crash course on how to deal with the mess of being in your twenties, feeling lonely, nostalgic and out of place and not knowing where you belong. While writing this album I was just waiting to ‘become myself again’, but I learned that everything you bury is a seed.”

Her Skin will be performing at Mondo in New York in October. More live dates will be announced shortly.
