Big Yard delights with smooth shuffle track ‘State of Mind’

The band Big Yard sit at a table, there are three members and they are talking and laughing

In the union of two seasoned producers and a veteran singer-songwriter emerges Big Yard, a dynamic collaboration creating a unique fusion of contemporary rock, pop, smooth jazz, big band and R&B, spun with a modernised and sophisticated touch.

Fronted by Darryl Scotti, the band announced themselves onto the circuit earlier this year with intoxicating country rock anthem ‘Proof’ which immediately showcased the pure class of this outfit. They’re wasting no time though, and now return with a slightly different angle in a captivating dosage of jazz-pop in ‘State of Mind’.

“‘State of Mind’ is a reflection of where I am today,” shares Scotti.“It captures the essence of my surroundings and the talent that surrounds me.”

Full of surprises and sonic twerks throughout, from the exquisite horn section to Darryl and the female backing vocals working in harmony throughout, this song delights from start to finish. It feels like an expansion from ‘Proof’, showcasing that Big Yard can hit all genres that are thrown at them with a real finesse and most of all, personality.
