Recorded by James McMillan and produced by Matt Greaves, ’She is Mighty’ paints a vivid and captivating image of her younger sister, powerfully driven by a punchy bass line that boasts hints of a song fit for a thrilling Wild Western film. Delicate yet gritty, ’She is Mighty’ offers a fresh take on a girl-power song, intended to uplift, motivate and spark the flame in every listener.
Inspired by her younger sister, Flo, Molly crafted “She is Mighty” as a tribute to Flo’s resilience and unique spirit. Drawing from personal experiences and anecdotes, Molly’s lyrics convey a powerful message of strength and self-acceptance. From Flo’s infectious zeal for life to her unwavering sense of morality, “She is Mighty” celebrates every aspect of her personality.
Molly said: “Sometimes all her [Flo] magnificent qualities have brought struggle, and people have tried to shoot her down because of them, which reminded me of an endangered animal that gets hunted for its beauty and rarity. This is illustrated in the lyrics “Hold the phone, don’t shoot that gun, she’s the only one”. This is my caution to the rest of the world, not to dim her light or you’ll live to regret it.”
Molly, a 2020 graduate of Music at Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, influences range from Adele to Aretha Franklin, captivating audiences across the UK from Glastonbury and Boomtown.
