Music: Sly Withers Unleash New Single ‘Restless’ and Announce UK Tour Dates

Australian alt-rock powerhouse Sly Withers has dropped a new single titled ‘Restless’ on 17th April, marking a bold step forward in their journey to conquer global audiences. With over 20 million Spotify streams, two ARIA Top 10 albums, and a history of sell-out Australian tours, the band has proven they’re more than just a local sensation – they’re a force to be reckoned with on the world stage.

Recorded and produced by Stevie Knight (Stand Atlantic, RedHook), mixed by James Paul Wisner (Paramore, Underoath), and mastered by Grant Berry (Boston Manor, All Time Low), ‘Restless’ captures the raw intensity of the band’s emotive alt-rock sound. The song pulses with urgency, melding punchy, emo-punk energy with a polished production that elevates its emotional core.

‘Restless’ is an anthem for those stuck in the frustration of not being able to show up as the version of themselves they strive to be. With lyrics that explore themes of self-doubt and the struggles of navigating relationships, the track is a deeply personal reflection on the messiness of growing up and the weight of mental health. As the band explains, “‘Restless’ is a reflection on the frustrations of not giving your all in relationships and feeling stuck in a cycle of self-doubt.”

Jono Mata, the band’s frontman, elaborates on the themes that shape their music: “The messiness of growing up. The ongoing challenges of adulthood. The simultaneous weight and fragility of one’s mental health. Relationships with others, yourself, and the world around you. These are weighty, unwieldy topics – yet, they’re all par for the course when it comes to Sly Withers.”

In line with the release of ‘Restless,’ the band is gearing up for an exciting UK tour from 4th to 17th May. The tour includes three shows at the highly anticipated Great Escape Festival in Brighton, with the band performing on the Planetary Group & Impressive PR Day Stage, The Hope & Ruin, and the Australian Stage at The Beach Jetty. Sly Withers will bring their signature high-energy live shows to fans across the UK, including stops in Leeds, Glasgow, Manchester, Swansea, and London.

With ‘Restless’ setting the tone for their forthcoming album, Sly Withers are on track to take their unique blend of heartfelt lyricism and powerful live performances to an even larger global audience.
