Collin Keller Returns With Bold New Single “Weed in the Garden”

Singer-songwriter, producer, and guitarist Collin Keller has released his new single, “Weed in the Garden.” The track, which Keller describes as political surf pop, was written on the road and completed in Los Angeles. It blends indie rock with psychedelic textures and soulful pop influences, all while carrying the spirit of a modern protest song.

At its core, “Weed in the Garden” uses the image of an invasive weed to explore themes of resilience and resistance in the face of corruption and greed. “It’s about rooting down deeper, refusing to fade, and holding onto hope even in dark times,” says Keller. “Protest music still matters.”

The single recalls the warmth of John Mayer’s Born and Raised era, the emotional immediacy of Jack Garratt, and the sharper edges of Jesse Welles. Keller handled the songwriting, production, mixing, mastering, and guitar work himself, with Jenny Giammanco contributing bass.

Originally from Vail, Colorado and now based in Los Angeles, Keller has worked across touring and theatre productions while developing his own songwriting. His credits include fronting the project luhx., playing guitar for Dutch Melrose, and appearing in productions such as The Life and Music of George Michael, Dirty Dancing in Concert, and The Simon & Garfunkel Story. He has also performed at Osheaga and Switchyard Music Festival.

“Weed in the Garden” will be followed by alternate versions released weekly, including an instrumental, a radio edit, and a stripped-back “Faded” version. The approach reflects Keller’s interest in offering listeners different ways to experience the song.
