Three-time Emmy Award winning storyteller and singer-songwriter Ignacio Peña has returned with his new single To The Stars. The track combines dance grooves, shimmering synths and vibrant horn arrangements to create a celebration of music, science and our shared humanity. The release is accompanied by two additional tracks, (Prelude) and Longing For Flight.
Equal parts science fiction daydream and dancefloor magnet, To The Stars pulses with a hypnotic beat made for shuffle dancing, while its lyrics pay tribute to legendary astronomer Carl Sagan. The music video imagines a “what if” moment in which the Golden Record, launched aboard NASA’s Voyager spacecraft in 1977 as a message to the cosmos, is discovered by an alien civilisation. When its contents are played, Earth’s languages, sounds and music ripple across the galaxy, sparking a universe-wide dance.“Carl Sagan reminded us that we’re all passengers on the same tiny world,” says Peña. “To The Stars is my way of sending that message back into the cosmos, this time with a beat.”The single features horn arrangements by Joe Keys, choir vocals recorded in Nigeria by the Epoch House Choir, and production alongside Isaac Sakko. Peña blends live-band warmth with electronic textures, with mixing by Isaac Sakko and Rick Moon at Redemption Studios in Puerto Rico, and mastering by Adam Matza at Magic Ears Mastering.Ignacio Peña is a Puerto Rican singer-songwriter and Emmy Award winning storyteller whose work bridges music, science and multimedia. Known for pushing artistic boundaries, he continues to inspire audiences with projects that celebrate curiosity, creativity and the human spirit.
