Curly Mouth Releases Genre-Spanning New Album Watermelon & Ginger

Curly Mouth has released Watermelon & Ginger, a new album developed over five years that reflects both personal and artistic growth.

Written and recorded across multiple homes and cities while balancing the uncertainties of adulthood and working life, the album captures a sense of movement and evolution. Built around fast-moving chord progressions, guitar-led arrangements and playful vocal melodies, Watermelon & Ginger moves fluidly between folk, jazz, indie rock and subtle psychedelic influences.

The project also marks Curly Mouth’s first professional studio album. Earlier releases were self-produced in a bedroom setting, while Watermelon & Ginger expands that sound into a more refined and fully realised record without losing its intimate character.

Across the album, Curly Mouth combines minimalist arrangements with emotionally direct songwriting, creating songs that constantly shift in tone and texture. Warm guitar tones, vintage organs and layered synths contribute to a sound that feels both nostalgic and unpredictable.

Described as a project driven by curiosity and experimentation, Curly Mouth continues to approach music as an open-ended creative pursuit, with each release exploring a distinct sonic identity. Watermelon & Ginger stands as the latest example of that evolving approach.
