Emerging producer, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist Sev Karlsson steps into the spotlight with his debut EP Reverie, a four-track project that introduces his atmospheric sound and introspective songwriting.
Blending indie electronic, indie pop, alternative, and chillwave influences, Reverie draws inspiration from artists like Toro y Moi, Bon Iver, and Mk.gee, while carving out a distinct identity of its own. The EP’s dreamy textures and layered production create a hazy, immersive backdrop for Karlsson’s reflective lyrics.
Written and recorded over six months during his final chapter in Los Angeles, the project captures a period of transition. Across tracks like “Bygone,” “Window,” and “Myopia,” Karlsson explores ambition, identity, and the challenge of balancing creativity with the pressures of everyday life.
“Reverie is an examination of what making music means to me,” Karlsson explains. “It reflects my experiences in Los Angeles and the moments of clarity that came with them.”
Now based in Vancouver, Karlsson continues to refine his sound, but Reverie stands as a strong first statement, offering a glimpse into an artist with both emotional depth and a clear sonic vision.
