Americana singer-songwriter Misha Fair explores a lifelong love of music, the memories that shape an artist, and the connection between performer and audience in her fifth single, “South of Seattle.”
At first listen, the track feels like a traditional love song, filled with longing, tenderness, and reflection. Beneath the surface, however, Fair tells a more personal story about her relationship with music and the people who have supported her throughout her career.
Inspired by her early years performing onstage, “South of Seattle” reflects on the journey that brought Fair to where she is today while looking ahead to the years still to come. At its heart is a question: Will the excitement of performing remain just as powerful decades from now?
“South of Seattle sounds like a love song, and in many ways it is,” says Fair. “But the love story isn’t about another person. It’s about music. It’s about the stage, the people who have supported me along the way, and the hope that 20 or 30 years from now I’ll still feel the same excitement walking into a room to perform that I felt when I first started.”
The title references an important period in Fair’s early performing life, connecting personal memories with a wider reflection on the experiences, venues, and audiences that become part of an artist’s story.
Blending Americana, country, folk, bluegrass, soul, and rock, Fair brings together powerful vocals and honest songwriting shaped by decades of performing, writing, vocal coaching, and artist development. Her music reflects a deep commitment to storytelling and the lasting connections that can grow through a shared love of music.
“South of Seattle” is available now on all major digital streaming and download platforms.
