Five New Zealand bands and artists will be making their Great Escape debut: Jonathan Bree, JessB, Banks Arcade, Mild Orange and Molly Payton. In addition, four of the acts (Jonathan Bree, JessB, Banks Arcade, and Mild Orange)will be performing at ‘the annual ‘NZ @ The Great Escape’ matinee show which will be taking place at Horatio’s (at the end of Brighton Pier) on Friday 13h of May, from 12pm – 4pm.
12:30pm – Banks Arcade will kick things off darting between elements of hard rock, electro and metalcore, lovers of names like Deftones, Bring Me The Horizon, SAINt JHN and Northlane will hear licks of this influence across the BA catalogue
1:30pm – Up next is JessB is a force to be reckoned with, her bars, rhythms and flow are effortless and her confidence on the mic only matched by a natural knack for timing and sense of self
2:30pm – Mild Orange are taking the penultimate spot, despite hailing from one of the most isolated places on earth, Dunedin, Mild Orange have become a band belonging to the world that is building an international following on the back of songs that unfold like secrets shared between friends and lovers
3:30pm – Jonathan Bree is your headliner. Known for melodic compositions about modern life and love over string parts that slide precariously between notes and dulcitone chimes Jonathan’s musical palette could be described as dark Disney
