LAB RAT Unleashes New Single ‘Lost In Soho’ Ahead of Gritty Debut Album ‘In The Walls, We Wait’

Australian alt-rock grunge rap artist LAB RAT is gearing up to make a major mark on the international stage with the release of his debut album In The Walls, We Wait, landing early Summer via renowned indie label Mushroom Pillow. Teasing what’s to come, LAB RAT has just dropped his latest single ‘Lost In Soho’—a raw and rousing track that captures the slow unraveling of a life no longer lived with intention.

‘Lost In Soho’ follows a string of critically acclaimed singles including ‘Drunk’, ‘Exit Path’ and ‘Rolling Loud’, and acts as a gritty vignette of identity crisis, change, and the inner war it sparks. It’s a universal feeling—who hasn’t questioned everything in the dark quiet of a sleepless night?

LAB RAT will make his UK live debut at The Great Escape Festival this May (14th–17th), bringing his cathartic, high-voltage energy to UK audiences for the very first time.

With In The Walls, We Wait, LAB RAT turns trauma into triumph, building a thunderous sonic world out of personal loss, hard-fought growth, and a defiant belief in reinvention. The album doesn’t aim to tie up life’s loose ends—it lives in the messy middle, asking the questions we’re often too scared to say out loud.

According to LAB RAT, “The contrast between light and dark moments on the album is its greatest strength. One track might have you feeling unstoppable… while the next drags you into the depths of existential reflection. It’s this balance—celebration and despair, pleasure and pain—that makes In The Walls, We Wait a compelling listen.”

A powerful standout from the album, ‘Car Crash’, will feature in Netflix’s new series Olympo this June, extending LAB RAT’s raw storytelling into the world of TV drama.

Behind the name is Dylan, whose journey from addiction and loss to artistic clarity is the heart of the project. Inspired by the tragic loss of his brother and driven by sheer grit, Dylan found salvation in music—crafting songs from inside Melbourne’s Singing Bird Studios, even when the fridge was empty and the future unclear.

‘Lost In Soho’ is out now.
In The Walls, We Wait arrives Summer 2025 via Mushroom Pillow.
Catch LAB RAT live at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton this May.
